The time for the next city break "overseas" has arrived last weekend, the target being Tallinn, capital of Estonia. With more than 250 students on board of the ferry we departed from Stockholm Friday in the evening, with 17 hours of travelling waiting for us before we have reached the mainland again. The night went by really fast with so many students on the board, you didn't have time enough to sleep before the exploration of the city, the parties on the boat kept everybody awake until almost the break of the dawn. ;) Anyway, these kind of trips are not about sleeping and relaxing, everybody was aware of this. :D
About Tallinn now. It's a beautiful city with a large old city in its center, of course in a good, renovated condition all of the buildings. The only unpleasantness we encountered during our visit in the city was the weather, which wasn't friendly at all, but coming from Stockholm most of us were prepared enough against the chilly, fresh air. Taking an hour-long lunch break, we recovered quickly from the short night... oops not, contrary, with our loaded stomach we were much closer to the edge of falling asleep. :D After a "painful" standing up from the table we continue our discovery around the city, but later on we found ourselves again in a warm place to have a cup of coffee, tea, to gain some more heat.
As a final moment in the city, we climbed up on the top of the wall surrounding the old city, which offered a more or less great view down on the old buildings, which were already taken up by the darkness. With the ship leaving the port at 6 PM, our long night back to Stockholm has begun. The constant music from the parties and rumbling of the engines made us to lose our sense of time until we had to get up couple of hours later near the capital of Scandinavia.
P.S. Starting with the panoramas, they were shot with my phone.
[Last weekend my camera gave up being loyal to me and it's in an unusable state now, so sorry for the quality of the pictures. Although I had the chance to use a Nikon D7000 during this weekend - thanks to Martin! - having no experience with it, it was hard for me to produce the same quality I am used with my little camera.]
