1 city, 2 countries, 3 days

Yes, the beautiful city is Rome, the two countries are Italy and Vatican and the three days have been the most intense ones this year regarding sightseeing, absorbing in the vast history, getting closer to the Roman culture, living for the gastronomy and a tiny bit of work. All topped with perfectly sunny and warm weather, the resulting experience creates a long-lasting memory.
Rome has so much to offer that the three days and nights we got were far from being enough. You can't say any length of time which would had been sufficient, it's simply never enough. Some highlights of the trip we:
  • Having the possibility to check out a construction site of a huge development project where a new metro line is being built right next to (and partly under) the foundations of the Colosseum, thanks to WSP
  • Visiting Vatican City with all of its museums, the Sistine Chapel, St. Peter's Basilica and the square in front of it with the same name
  • Seeing some of the oldest churches and bridges of the world, being surrounded by thousands of years of history
  • Spacious squares and fountains on every second street while having both plenty of narrow and cozy streets too
  • Enjoying the pasta, mozzarella, ricotta, wine and all the other wonders the Italian gastronomy has to offer
All in all it's a city worth going back to thus making my job harder and harder to answer the "where to next?" question which is always in my head. So anyone up for a trip back to Rome soon? 🙃

As always, here come some other shots I took over there, enjoy! Arrivederci!
